View Full Version : "On plane"

I am aware I want my clubhead pointing at the target at the top of my swing, but what angle when the club is pointing to the sky is "on plane".

Does it vary from player to player, or is there right and wrong positions?

I read somewhere the shaft should be parallel with the line the shaft sits on at address. Fact or crap?

Draw a straight line on the ground through the ball to the target.

Imagine you have a laser light attached to both ends of your golf club that is an extension of the shaft.

Throught your whole swing, that laser light should remain on the line, for whichever end of the shaft is pointed at the ground.

Scottt....sounds like you have been reading Jim Hardy with the parallel thing.

Blakey has it on the money.

Nah Toolish, I try not to read golf instruction because I just get confused

Virge has been kind enough to give me some pouinters though when we have played.

MTB - I'm big on visual swing keys, I like the laser line idea!

Get 2 torches and tape em end to end. Its a TGM drill but works like Blakeys laser idea. Think it is outlined by Willow on ISG if you can wade through their forums.

Sorry about linking to the other site, but there is no need to wade through the forums

So it's a night time drill ?

Less thought, get a lesson, hit balls, train muscles.

I tried it once and it drew a double figure S on the ground.
