Hi guys can anyone tell me what the rule is when you loose the cover of your ball on tee off, this happened to me last weekend with a brand new ball (ok 4 holes old ) i took a 3 of the tee just in case but was not sure on the actual rule and was wondering if it has happen to anyone else?:-k

I think if the ball is damaged beyond playable you can replace it without penalty.

Are you sure your mates didn't substitute one of those exploding balls?

If not, I reckon you deserve some sort of prize for belting the cover off one.

no definitely not a gimmick ball must just have been a dud ball, know what you are saying though imagine that not being just a figure of speech but something do able
