Am keen to go and have a hit at Manly and there is an open day on the 31st July. Looks to be a heap of tee times available from 8am.

Who's Keen?

Cost $80 + golflink booking fee.
Lunch included

I will book for all if anyone else is keen.

I don't want to put you off, but from my experience (and granted it was 10 years ago), it ain't worth $80.

But guys pay over $50 to play other courses. I may only ever play it once. Take Camden Lakeside for example $80+ to play there.

I've heard it's not that great. To me, the best $80 round was Magenta. I'd never get tired of playing that course.

Yeah, remember I was the one yesterday defending the $165 fee at NSW. I'm all for paying good coin to play a good course.

I just don't know whether Manly is worth the $$$ in my book. In yours it might be worth $150... I guess the only way to find out is to play it.

I paid $90 to play NSW yesterday, and I am happy to pay $90 to play there.

But I won't be paying $80 to play Manly anytime soon.

$90. Were you with a member? In Feb I paid $165 with course guide and socks.

TS, $90 is sensational to play there. I was lucky enought to play there once ( a freebie ) and for less than a hungie I'd be back there any time.

It was with a social club and they neg a $90 green fee.

Playing with a member is about $60

Was that with the "Chinese Triad Golf Club"?

Most of the green complexes have been re-worked since then.

Still not worth $80, but I think Grant is interested in taking his oportunity to play it once. It's good to get out & play courses you haven't played before.

So Andrew is it a course that I would enjoy playing the once. Or one I would regret ever going too?

I think you will enjoy it for a once off hit. It’s generally in good condition & the new bunkering over the last decade make it quite a challenge. Strangely enough, most of the work seemed to take place on the main paddock & the holes over the road are still a little disappointing.

I would place it better than Strathfield, but not as good as Concord.

Seems as if I will enjoy the day and the chance to tick it off the played list.

I live next door to it . . . and I would pay about $40 to play it... boring, flat, yawn.

We call it the "lawn cemetary" - old people course waiting to die.
