Star ratings on threads

Is there a need and does it influence you reading said thread.

Doesn't affect me reading it, to be honest I don't really notice star ratings.

I think it's pretty useless and isn't really used. I'm more likely to give a thread 1 star, than giving a thread 5 stars.

I probably should have voted the 3rd option, but I went for the first.

I never even noticed the stars until they were mentioned in the Qantas thread.
