View Full Version : Pings Wanted

Gday all.

After some Ping S58s or S59s. 3-SW if poss.

Anyone able to tell us the difference?

Had a couple of rounds with the Ping i10s, and definitely rate them. But from reading up, the s58/59s sound like they've got the best combo of blade for shaping and wide-bottom for forgiveness.

This is my limited understanding anyway. So if you've got a set and want to hock em, and can explain the difference ... give us a shout.

Cheers, Matt

Hope your betting improves or these will remain a dream.

Dare to dream, my motto.

No it's not.

It's punt until you can afford the S58s.

I might - infact I will - begin a new thread, called the All-up Punt of the Week in the quest for the s58s.

So Matt, where in Sydney do you play/ are a member?

Nah - not saving, gambling. Sensibly.

Though I did see the s58s on an American website, 3balls or rockbottomgolf for about $450 Oz, with postage. Shoulda bought em. And will when they come up next and the Next Great All-up salutes.

In the meantime I live in Coogee and am a member of Beverley Park down Kogarah way. Also play St.Mick's and The Coast open days, and Bonnie Doon's on the Monday when I get the inkling. And socially at Moore Park, Woolahra in the early AM and Eastlakes.

Work from home, see. Play fair bit. Not any better, however.

So - time for lessons and, of course, some "free" s58s courtesty of the following 11-leg special...:

Dragons will smash your hopeless lot.
The History: Played 15; Dragons 6, Raiders 8, drawn 1.

The Raiders have won seven of the past eight including a round three win earlier this season when they came from behind to win 21-14.

But they have never beaten the joint venture side at WIN Stadium.

The Dragons have won twice and there was a draw from the three previous games at the venue.

7 wins on the trot for the Drags, one game closer to their next loss

The Dragons are hot at the moment, Soward at No.6 is cutting em up while even Big Jason Jyles is getting through a power of work. Throw in a couple of classy centres and they'll probably bow out in the second round of the semis. That or lose every game coming home, beginning with the Raiders this weekend.

But I"m tipping the Saints. Someone has to.

In other news - saw some s58s up here on the Gold Coast, nine clubs for $1400 ... which seems excessive, if not outright risible.

Or is that about right?

Also saw some i10s for $150 a stick. But that's new. So I'm gonna get em online. And the Saints will be the ones doing the relatively heavy lifting.

Two out of four ... that's good as far as my punting/tipping goes, though you pick 11 legs you're a show of missing a couple.

But that's why you get the big bucks.

Or not, as the case may be.

So - tip us four guaranteed winners this week in the AFL, I'll find four league games, and see how we go...

ha. fair enough. "Short but sure" is one of my mate's mottos.

But then he's a worse punter than me.

League tipping's tough this year, the team has to be Storm or Manly to get any certainty ... you'd think there'd be four Good Things a week.

But there usually is not.
