View Full Version : Another hacker - there goes the neighbourhood!

Hi folks, thought I should do the obligatory introductory post.

I'm a hacker. From Victoria. Not sure if that leaves me with any credibility, but at least I'm telling the truth. :)

I'm a social Sunday golfer, but not a member anywhere as I probably don't play quite enough golf and I'm not much into competition golf. I like to have a relaxed hit with my mates when I get the chance, I mainly play around the Geelong area, on the Bellarine Peninsula. Golf for me is more about good company and constant sledging than what's on the scorecard.

I used to play a lot in my high school years, but the frequency dropped right off after I finished Uni and it's only now that I find myself getting the golf bug back. Once upon a time I was playing well enough for a handicap in the teens, but nowadays lack of practice sees me well into the 90s and unfortunately beyond some days. I tend to hit it well, but my short game is diabolical.

Of course, like any self-respecting hacker I've managed to convince myself that my scoring problems (that have been caused by my terrible short game) will be improved drastically by a new set of irons. But that's another thread.

:)

Thanks for the welcome.

Embarrassing admission number 3 is that I barrack for Richmond. ](*,)

Working in Geelong is pretty depressing now that cats fans have gone from fatalistic to smug in one season. :)

Give them a couple of years... They'll be back down the ladder.

There's no hope for Richmond however ;)

Thanks guys.

Now I know why aging wanker couples renew their vows after a while. You can't beat the warm glow of rebirth.
