Dunno if this has been done before (and I can't be stuffed searching for it :mrgreen:), but the episode of 10 to 1 the other night was about sporting moments.

How about we name our 3 greatest sporting moments, and 3 sporting moments that made you want to throw the remote at the television?

No particular order...

Greatest
1. Steve Waugh hits the last ball of the day to get to 100 against England at the SCG.
2. Ted Whitten's lap of honour before State Of Origin at the MCG (I don't really care for AFL, but this made my hairs stand on end).
3. Socceroos penalty shootout win against Uruguay to qualify for the 2006 World Cup.

Worst
1. That bastard Larry Mize chips in on the second playoff hole versus Greg Norman in the 1987 Masters.
2. The Shark lips out on the 18th green at Inverness twice en route to losing to Paul Azinger in a playoff for the 1993? USPGA Championship.
3. That friggin' try Mark Coyne scored in the last minute of an Origin match.

1. Balmain losing to Canberra in the NSWRL final
2. Any win by Mark Skaife
3. Mike Tyson eating Holeyfields ear

1. Nathan Brown breaking his leg a few years ago. I cowered behind my hands and would not watch, but almost vomited from descriptions. Horrendous.

3. Collingwood losing to the Lions in concurrent Grand Finals, when it was obvious my grandfather was clinging to life just to see his Pies lift the cup once more. They failed miserably, and Pop went to his grave unfulfilled. He didn't bother sticking around in 2004 to potentially go through it all again.

I always thought Australia getting the Olympics was pretty cool. The whole nation just stopped for 24 hours.

America's Cup win in 83 also a high mark.

1991 World cup victory for the Wallabies.

I made a personal rule when selecting my moments that they had to be things that I actually saw, either live or on TV, at the time they were happening. I apologise for the first one being very obscure, but because it involves Manly being beaten, most will understand.

1. Illawarra Steelers v Manly, middle 80's, Wollongong Showground. Mark Broadhurst, ex-Manly prop, kicked a field goal to give Illawarra the victory. I'm not sure this was even on TV, but at the ground I've never seen a crowd so happy, ever.

2. 1986 Masters. Best golf tourney ever.

3. Another obscure one. 1988 World Series Baseball. A guy called Kirk Gibson came in as a pinch-hitter, so badly injured he couldn't run, but he hit a homer to win the game. They show it almost every year when the World Series is on.

1. The Greg Norman collapse in the Masters.

2. The Jana Novotna choke in a Wimbledon final.

3. The first Fenech v Azumah Nelson fight. We woz robbed!

1956.As a schoolboy was at the "G" the day that Shirley Strickland, Betty Cuthbert, Fleur Mellor
and Norma Croker won the womems 4 by 100 yards relay gold medal. I didn't realise the importance of that day until some years later.

1983 America's Cup win. Just great to beat the septic tanks.

1961 tied test at the Gabba v The Windies.
