View Full Version : Blue Marker Challenge - Pacific G.C. - Friday 26th Nov.

I'm thinking of subjecting myself to some torture at Pacific G.C. on 26th Nov. Pins are in the most evil of positions, four putts on the 4th green are not uncommon.

Green fees + comp fees are about $23.00

If you break your handicap (nett 71 or less) then you win a dozen golf balls (no idea what brand).

Is anyone up for it?

Sorry David, can't really use a leave day for this.
Using one on Monday, and will be using a couple for the upcoming cricket at the Gabba.

Hopefully a couple of the shift workers will be able to play.

Not for me, a day like that and i will probably shoot 100. Thats one of golfer69's records that i dont want to beat.

Yes, that's easily done. I won't tell you what my worst score has been on a blue marker day. I was recovering from an elbow injury and couldn't straighten my right elbow. Well, that's my excuse anyway.

Can people tell me what time they would like to play? The timesheet fills up pretty quickly. I wouldn't mind around 8:00 am.

Suggestions?

Don't be like that. It will wear off.....hopefully.

David - can you count me in as a 'possible ' reserve for this - had planned to have a ''sick'' day from my real job on that FRiday because of a short film I was shooting but there may be a delay in the schedule so could be an off chance of playing.

Damoocow, I'll count you as a "possible" reserve.

Paul, Iain, can you tell me if you would prefer to walk it or would you prefer carts. This will influence groupings on the day.

I know onewood would prefer a cart, I'm probably going to walk it (may regret that coming up the 18th), have yet to find out what our guests prefer.

Eag's
18th November 2004, 07:05 AM
If Kev wants a cart I will split it with him
Kev?

davidp
18th November 2004, 05:32 PM
Damn, sorry Eags, did not mean to leave you out of my post above. Looks like we'll have 6 walkers and two carters, Eags & onewood.

Group drawings coming next week.

Pacific has a corporate day as well so need ALL their carts at 12:00 pm. I've organised for a cart for 9 holes for Eags & Onewood, but you'll have to walk the other 9. :x

I'd offer to carry you guys, but my back's been playing up.. :P

I'll be fine walking thanks Dave, to much stuffing around to go get the pull buggy out of the car for the second 9 :D That could drop the momentum I've got going by then :D

22nd November 2004, 11:42 PM
I've done a completely random draw:

The groups are:

Group 1:

Eag's
Iain
Grant
Wayne

Group 2:

onewood
Paul
davidp
Craig

Group 1 hits off at 7:42. Group 2 hits off at 7:48. The greens will be double cut and rolled by the way and will as slick as they get at this time of year. Everyone will be walking as Pacific's carts aren't available after 12:00 pm.

I'll be there at about 7:00 trying in vain to get some rhythm into my "marionette chopping wood" swing. If you want some entertainment, be there about then...

I think everyone who played today would describe the day as "interesting". Pacific was a walk in the park as everyone's scores will attest.

It was great to get together again with some fellow Ozgolfers, have a few laughs and cry together at the injustice of the game. After all, that's what it's all about. :D

Congrats to Eag's on getting 1st place and taking home the wine.

Final standings were:

1. Eag's
2. Craig D (guest)
3. onewood
4. Iain
5. ozmacleod
6. cazandpaul
7. davidp
8. Wayne K (guest)

Thanks to all who were there, and maybe could still be there. There's nothing like a cold beer to make it all better again. :P

I was trying to avoid putting the scores up. But since you've made a special request, people feast your eyes on this feast:

Nett score
1. Eag's 76
2. Craig D (guest) 78
3. onewood 81
4. Iain 82
5. ozmacleod 84
6. cazandpaul 85
7. davidp 87
8. Wayne K (guest) 90

I think all would agree that Pacific played very very tough today.
