Well, my putter tinkering has come to end, i hope!

I've just ordered a custom made putter from 350milled.com

flowneck design, custom stampings, iomic grip and good covers, black ox (many finishes to choose from) and lie length all custom.

now, it'll be 4-5 weeks till its here, but i'll hopefully post the pics when they come

the price is super good, under $350 delivered!!!

That price new i think is unbeatable and the guy has been so easy to deal with.

the pic i'll post is the drawing design, but the neck is a flow neck not the plumbers.

Enjoy! and stay tuned for the progress of my final putter!

(oh and if you have a better slogan for the bumpers, let me know ;))

If you showed them a pic of something like a scotty squareback or del mar they could copy it?

Nice putter Matt. Might be tough to on-sell when you change your mind in a month. Any other Greenwoods around?

doubt it, but it looks like a del mar neck doesnt it. so i guess you could ask for more chunk but i dont think it goes that far. more the options of sightlines, stampings, finishes and lie, length etc

Nice.

Is it the typical Anser/Newport shape?

I'd send it back, the writing is all crooked - terrible quality control.

Did you pick the 350g weight specifically for the 34" length? What swingweight is the end result? I'm guessing D2-D4 (using method 2 below).

How do they measure putter length? I know of 2 method and the difference is 1".

1. End-of-grip to straight down the shaft where it touches the ground when the putter is in grounded position.

2. End-of-grip to the bottom of the sweetspot of the putter head.

350g heads for any length

not sure exactly how 34 inches is measured but getting down the shaft

Cant wait to have a few rolls when it arrives!

Did you try any cameron before getting the 350milled? If so, how do they compare?

Matt 3 Jab
12th September 2008, 08:30 AM
i've had plenty of camerons, i like them but the feel on this is the same if not better.

My pro actually said he thought it was a tour scotty until he saw my name on the back, i think he ordered one now too.

They are great putters

I presume you got the carbon steel. Can you feel the difference between that and stainless steel?

Scottt
12th September 2008, 09:38 AM
I've had a look at and a roll with Matt's 350milled and can tell you it is a good stick.

It feels as good as any Cameron I've putted with, and it looks awesome - way better than it appears in the pics he has posted.

If I wasn't the loving and committed owner of a Karsten Anser that I love, I would be ordering one myself.

Matt 3 Jab
12th September 2008, 09:41 AM
The carbon is very soft, the stainless would have a little more 'click' on impact, but again, im sure it would be soft. there is a tonne of finishes, for around $350 aussie, you cant go wrong!!!!

Grunt
12th September 2008, 09:52 AM
Stainless would be way harder than Carbon Steel, Matt.

Scottt
12th September 2008, 10:07 AM
But both are much harder than a golf ball, so the softness of the metal is a moot point...

v205
12th September 2008, 10:08 AM
More like $400 now with the A$ on free fall. I wonder why they don't offer the Anser 2 shape.

Matt 3 Jab
12th September 2008, 10:12 AM
well around 380, but still, for what you get its very cheap.

Scottt
12th September 2008, 10:15 AM
The fact that it can be personalised is a major benefit.

You can get a Scotty/Redwood/Odyssey Black for similar money, but it's just like any other Scotty/Redwood/Odyssey Black.

I would get one with "Scotty Cameron Super Rare Prototype 1 of 2", letting it get beat up and a little rusty and selling it for a few thousand clams.

Hmmm... I have just noticed something. The original head was "8 of 100" and as you stated it broke while bending the offset. Yet, the second head also happened to be "8 of 100"?

Coincidence? Very odd.

Matt 3 Jab
3rd November 2008, 06:29 AM
Cause its putter 8/100, the design, not the physical head itself.

Wow, talk about digging up a thread to add insight................

One too many Sunday night beers I think. I need to install a switch that automatically disconnects the internet as soon as I open the beer fridge. :smt087

I think that is the coolest thing ive seen.
"get in " could have been "go home" from Happy Gilmore.
