Gents,

I had to gloat . . . just got this email form a mate in California. Corporate VIP tickets to the US Open.

I leave on Friday morning. Enjoy it on TV.

Life is F***ing good !

I have tickets for the weekend to see the US Open at Torrey Pines for you as promised. I have a bed and a set of wheels for you too.

You can get a ticket for under $2K to leave on Friday 13th, get here on Friday 13th see the open for the weekend and be home on Tuesday.

This may be your only time to watch a US Open - ever. It will definitely be by far the cheapest way – you only have to get here and eat.

I’ll even throw in a free set of new model Callaway tour golf balls from Michael Campbell (with ‘CAMBO’ stenciled on them). Given to me by the head of the Callaway fitting and training centre in San Diego (not often you have a real sleeve of US open winner’s gonads).

So tell me, what time do I need to pick you up from LAX?

PS bring your clubs.

Nice work!

BTW, I collect ball markers. Can you pick me one up from the pro shop, just the marker, no divot tool or hat clip needed. I can paypal you for it when you return. (only if you happen to be in there yourself and with you being a golf ho', I am sure you will be!)

Thanks,
JC

Thanks in advance Virge. It may supplant my marker from St. George's in Toronto as my most pretigious.

Wow, I have never used supplant in a sentence before. I actually had to spell check that one!

Virge,

I hope you do a better job of getting on TV than DC did at the Masters. Your job before you leave is to nominate the colour shirt you'll wear, and the hole you'll be at, so we can spot you on camera.

Does a VIP pass allow you to go anywhere?

Oi I did.........18th on Sunday as Tiger is getting set to putt. Lime green shirt and yellow cap. The boom camera went right over the top of me.

Not quite sure - 'tis a corporate hospitality pass. Guessing it is like the GP where you go and get free piss and tucker at one place then can wonder pretty much anywhere I like.

I shall work on the TV option, being this weekend - it shall be a Wallaby cap, and something completely bogan like a "I 'ucken love Oz" TShirt.

Actually . . . on second thoughts - the last thing we need are "those" T-Shirts getting any TV coverage.

i could just be the drunk knob giving Adam Scott putting tips on the 15th.

:)

Do I need a Visa for the USA - don't think I did last time . . .

Virge - no visa - just fill in the green visa waiver form. Then be prepared to wait - 1 hr just a few weeks ago to get through customs & immigration in the US.

Make sure you tick the box that you are looking for work, that gets you priority processing with the customs there.

Didn't need to - I received about 12 phone calls this monring at about 5am from Mike over in the USA, before I finally got out of bed to answer it.

My ticket is now being used by an employee . . . I have no ticket. I asked to see if he could just buy me a general ticket . . . he laughed at me. The place was a zoo.

I went back to bed and cried.

Life is cruel.

Virge, hadn't been in this thread for a while and was wondering how you were enjoying the last round, then only to find that you'd missed out.
Do we need to rename this thread "Life sucks then you die"?
