Match play ruling please
Each match in our match play must be played in a two week period.
Player A and player B must play each other in the opening round. Player A can play the first weekend and not the second. Player B can only play on the second weekend but is unavailable to play the first due to work.
Mid week games were out of the question.
How would your club handle this ?

thats one reason why clubs shouldnt allow time for players to organise a game.
the matchplay should be played on the same day/s that the qualifying rounds were held. for most that would be a saturday. (not two saturdays)
Cant offer any advice I am afraid - imho both have forfieted.

Criticism doesn't bother me, as it means I am doing something and people are watching.

Mike, I would suggest that most clubs will throw it back to the participants, "guys, you took part knowing it had to be played by these dates. YOU work it out and let US know".
You may need to check your constitution if they decide to have a putt off or a toss of the coin, the committee will always be the baddy if forced to decide.
Nothing in the rules about highest seeded player going through ?? If not and they can't play, what MTB said, they should both forfeit and the winner of C v D gets a walkover.

At my old club if the players couldn't agree they were both knocked out... funnily enough not many games were missed...
