I want to be equal first for a day, with a Score of 36 in Darwin today.

After forgetting how to hit the ball, I had 8pts through the first 6 holes. Really thought I was heading for the Bob.

34 points. Hit my irons really well. Had some trouble getting off the tee and didn't make a single putt over about 2ft. Played better than the score but that's golf!

80/69 for 35 points in the MM at NH this morning. Was cruising with 21 points after the first 9 but my playing partner was having a hard time and I couldn't help but drag myself down to his unfortunate level coming in. And then I learn the winning score was a 67!! Aaargh!

Got a NTP and birdie on the 5th while I was playing OK.

How's Royal Haven after the rain?

We went for a drive Sunday night (Hatchling chasing Pokemon ) and I noticed one of those big pines outside the fence near the entrance snapped off about a meter up from the base.

Aside from the snapped tree (should take a photo), Royal Haven is fine.. In fact, there is no trace of there having been any storms at all. So much sand here the water just drains instantly.

I noticed the new greens keeper whipper snipping in the snake pit at the corner of the 1/10th today. I noticed that even with all the rain we've had there was no moisture in the pit at all, which is really odd because back in the day, that whole area was a reed covered swamp (hence the snake warning sign).

I jokingly asked him if he was going to put water back in it. He looked at me for a second and said, "and just how am I supposed to do that?"

Off a new lowest of 6, and in sodden and soggy conditions using a putter that arrived at 9pm the night before, I was first group out and had 31 points.

My game was ordinary on the front, coming good for 18 on the back and rolling in a couple of decent length putts to finish off.

Fun day with great blokes. Shame I have had to work afterwards

I had a perfect handicap farming score of 34 points today, which will probably be a 9th best score.

I didn't play very well, and made a number of miracle recoveries to save bogey after hitting awful hybrid approaches.

But there were a few positives. My putting was Ok, and I finally had a double free round, so I've got a little streak to build on for that thread.

33pts today to break my run of 20's

Driver was back on song first time for a while. Few bad holes but overall signs of a good round coming.

Par on the 18th was a ripper. Drive into trees left of fairway, try and cut a 5iron around trees and hit it dead straight 20m right of green pin high. Sitting on a downhill grass\sand slope with a bunker and short side pin to contend with. Level of difficulty way outside of my usual standard. Decide to just take a nice easy swing with a lobby and hope for the best. Pick it clean clear the bunker land about 2ft short of pin and spin sideways. Sink a 6ft uphiller for par.

33pts in single stableford this morning. Turned with 18pts, but just made too many poor swings on the back.

86/76 for my first club Champs round.

Bit blowy all round, and hardly holed a putt all day. A few water balls led to 4 doubles. Birdied the last though to make things ever so slightly more respectable.

A few days off next week and some good on course time should see me in good stead to shoot lower next week.
