    Haha.
I'm disapoint the flag I dropped off yesterday only saw a 0.1 increase.
Better flag drops off with next weeks crap round. Should be enough to get to 7 for RA.

Last week's DSR of 75 has magically become a DSR of 72, so my handicap didn't get cut as much as it originally was. Not sure how/when that happened

I didn't post anything back at the start of the year in terms of goals, but looking back at where I was at the start of the year (12.5 prior to the rollover, which turned into 11.5), I am very pleased that my GA cap now sits at 7.

Most pleasing thing is to have played my past 2 rounds at a daily cap of 9 and comfortably play to a lower number shows that I must be doing something right.

I feel as if I'm hitting more fairways (or at least hitting effective tee shots) and more GIR, and since adopting plumb bobbing to read my putts I feel as if my accuracy on the greens has improved. Plus there are simple pre-shot routine elements that I've consciously adopted.

Short game refinement is what will get me down to mid single figures. My bunker play is still hit and miss, and I tend to go straight for the putter if I'm close enough off the green, where a PW bump and run shot may be more sensible.

In the back of my mind is whether or not I'm becoming a home track bully, so it remains to be seen if I can take this form to other courses.

All in all though, pretty happy with my progress.

Not sure whether I'll get there tho, as through playing more rounds in golflink, more get flagged, so I'll need a lot of low rounds to drop it much more....
After a really good month of golf for me including 4 scores of 40+ (and another not in a comp) - after having never scored 40 points before, I've just met my last target with a few days to spare! My new handicap is 18.1.

I'll have to have a think about 2015 goals (for a new thread), but the obvious one is to get the handicap down until I don't get any double-bungers anymore (which will please benno_r), but given my last 2 rounds have been played to 14.5, I should be aiming lower...

Shot an under par round!! I dont care where it is but I would like like this to happen.

If I feel I've improved enough I might try to take a tilt at pennants the following year.

I was going limit my hoing, but I'm keeping the goals realistic.
I think I've done some of this. My game has improved but I'm also more inconsistent but my bad aren't as bad as they used to be. My handicap as it stands is about 1 shot higher than this time last year. Also didn't shoot an under par round.

I played a few vardons but not as many as I wanted.

I haven't looked at all the things I've bought this year but I think in the last 6 months at least I've done less hoing.

Still looking to improve in the NY.

I need to shot 2 rounds better than I've played all year. Confidence is low
2014 has been an epic fail resulting in the white flag going up before rounds are complete atm.
Didn't even make the final 4 for the last round of champs and was miles off the pace with a 14 over 3rd round.
Hcp has blown out from 3.3 to 6.0 and climbing. Just when I think I my have bottomed out on the slide and can look forward to the rise I sink further with worse scores .
Last good round of a couple over par 18th Jan. Nothing good against par of the course after that, only 2 high DSR's giving played to 3&4's from 5&6 over rounds pffft .

2015's goal should be to get back to grinding a round out.

sitting at 21 at the mo, haven't had a chance to play in many comps due to work. I now walk most rounds, big tick, lost heaps of kg's, nother tick, still very inconsistent off the tee, have worked a bucket load on bunker technique and am quite confident in getting out, just need to put it closer to the pin, happy with my scoring irons. Just put a new set of sticks in the bag so still getting use to distances, flight etc. Goal for '15 is to get to 15, still loving the challenge

Have made it to 13 and been there for a while. Maybe a coupla more strokes to lose next year but that might be the limit. Aim to continue improving putting.

Enjoying playing and get out for 2 games most weeks.

    1. Play more golf
    2. Get some lessons
    3. Play some comps so my handicap stabilises (read: goes up so it is a true representation of my (lack of) skills)
    4. Improve, and thus lower said handicap

Still can't understand how anyone can ever get there without injury of some description.

Even if I took my lowest and highest points for the last 4 years, I'm still 1.9 off being anchored.

EDIT: Sorry correction, 2.1 off being anchored.

Well when you fail to break 90 for a good part of the year after having a GA handicap of 4.? you end up anchored.

There is still one week to go in 2014.

In that week, many of us are hopeful of achieving and exceeding our 2014 goals. Therefore, it is too early to assess our progress in 14 and set new goals for 2015.

One of the reasons why many of us play golf is because unjustified optimism is sometimes rewarded. I've got one game to go this year, and despite no evidence, I'm sure it will be the one that will make an entire year of effort worthwhile.

Now if I can also lose 5 kilos in that last week, while gorging myself on Christmas goodies, I'll be posting a triumph in the Fat Bastards thread as well. What could possibly go wrong with this plan?
