Hey fellas, only recently stumbled on this site.. I really miss not playing golf during the week - now at least I can talk about it instead!
Hey fellas, only recently stumbled on this site.. I really miss not playing golf during the week - now at least I can talk about it instead!
Hey Coalesce! Well, glad you asked! I currently play at North Haven but it's not going too well there so may be changing next year. Thought I'd join here.. and see if I could get some info on possible alternatives etc..
Welcome to the asylum Hard_Pan.
After last weekend I wish I didn't even know the game existed but will be out for more punishment again this weekend.
What's up with not playing atm, work, family, injury, financial?
Hey Hatch! Work during the week so w/end my only outlet for this game I love so much.. That said, I'm playing at Kooyonga this Friday thanks to a mate at the ol' club.. and AM I STOKED!!!
Big step up from Royal North Haven to Kooyonga.
A few of us have played Kooey recently and Chilled on here is a member.
I see above you mention it's not working out well at Nth H. What's the issue there if you don't mind discussing, members, location, course, value for money, access?
What other options are you considering for change of course?
Yeah, BIG difference but I like to play different courses and the tight ones don't faze me..
Played RA last September and although I only managed 27 points, considering the culture shock and the lost balls, I thought that was OK for a first go..
Re NH.. Land owned by a multi-national transport co. that's got no idea how to run a golf course and a course management co that... (rather not go there)..
Possibility is that it will all come to a grinding halt about this time next year. sadly..
For some reason I feel I'm sticking my head out by saying I play at NH (must be those looks you get in certain circles when the topic comes up), but hey, who cares! It's close and uncrowded and that's all I care about atm..
As far as where I'd like to play and where I'm likely to play - big gulf - mainly financial.. that's partly why I joined... to look and learn..
Welcome fellow addict.
Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.
Welcome Hard_Pan,
I played RA once. Went ok. See you in November.
Regards,
Your Champ
No need to feel like your sticking your neck out mentioning you play at North Haven. Hey, it may not be in Adelaides best but it's still some where to play and if your getting out of the place what you want and enjoy it that's what the games all about.
We're not all members of Adelaides top tier on here. We have a large cross section of members of country greens courses, members of sand greens courses, members of tier 2 courses, members of RA and Kooyonga and some that aren't members of any course but play any where when they can.
Keep an eye on the 1st Tee thread for SA days. We try to arrange a game at lest once a month at a different course. Your most welcome to join in, the more we get the better.

Welcome Hard_Pan, new to this site aswell. It doesn't matter where or how the club is swung, we all just enjoy it.
Have a look at the latest offering being organised at the moment, dates yet to be finalised but we are looking to meet at the Barossa Golf Club.
Thanks fellas! Yeah, noticed the Barossa Golf Club do.. just bought one of those GolfLink specials for that place too.. Hopefully it will be arranged at a time and date I can make 'cause I'll be there if I can!
Welcome Hard_Pan, see you out on a course sometime.
Welcome HP look forward to seeing another tragic at our golf days. Nobody cares where you play as long as you enjoy it. Great thing about Ozgolf is the cross section of members.
