So Adam Scott has always dreamed of winning the Barclays, or whatever the first event of the playoffs is called. I will give Adam some credit though, as being the first of the big names to bail, and he has always been consistent in his comments.
However, as far as the Olympic Golf event goes, is it too late to cancel?
I've been trying to think of another event at the Olympics where the best talent doesn't go. You may be able to argue for cycling, but the cyclists could also say that the Tour De France guys aren't the best in the world at a one day, 200km race.
I was on the fence to begin with, mainly because I didn't care, but now I am against golf being in. The game is now losing credibility as a result of what is currently going on.

Doesn't swimming also limit countries to 2 per event? I reckon for a while we had the 3 best 1500 swimmers in the world but number 3 couldn't go
Shigeki Matsuyama is out.

OK, the Games have been going for a few days now. So there has been a chance to get a feel for the TV coverage.
I'm predicting right now the golf coverage will be a total disaster.
I can't see any way 7 will dedicate a channel to uninterrupted coverage, even using somebody else's commentary. So if we get much at all, it will be 10 minutes here and there, cutting away to the kayaking or archery or even worse, an interview with a swimmer who just missed a medal.
Before it even starts in 16, I'm going to predict that in 2020 they will separate the coverage from the games itself, and sell the rights to golf channel or ESPN so it can be covered the same way as any other golf event.
But, go the Fireman anyway!

Is synchronised swimming still in?
Appears it is. Here is the schedule, in case you want to catch it!

apparently the 7 app for phone/tablets etc will have the golf available in full
The golf course has been invaded by 150 pound rats , and why are the golfers wearing blue, orange or green bibs , isn't that what the team uniform is for ?
Fraser, club house leader and Rose with nice hole in one.
Fowler opens with a four putt.
I don't think the course will be all that great by the time the girls get to play.
At least 7 mate was playing it last night.
Once you go yellow, you will never go back
Anyone have any idea if 7 Mate will be showing any of the golf tonight? I didn't catch any of it last night - around what time was it on?
Ta.
