Like it or hate it, i think we need it.

Abit of background - i'm a country member of a club 700 km's north of where i live (Casino), who is on GolfLink. Recently joined Sydney club Fox Hills - not GolfLink friendly.

I'm aware i'm nearing a blow to a handicap of 18, how close? I couldn't find out last Saturday, due to the massive deluge on Friday in Sydney, Fox Hills was shut. Not only that, but they weren't answering the phones .

So how the **** is a golfer sposed to find out his actual handicap when playing away from his (or her) home course??

Being that i play in northern NSW 4/5 times per year, it's enough to re-relocate my handicap back to Casino. Do clubs get a kickback for hosting more players? When i joined they were very eager for me to relocate it to Fox Hills?

When i finally caught them today (Monday), they tell me it's 17.1 - which seems odd. Again, at least with GolfLink you can easily keep track when courses are/are not sending cards back.
