Mediocre 26 points (13/13) - putted okay, drove so-so, everything else was pretty yucky - Gold Creek Classic this weekend - hoping to improve

4BBB stableford, 43 points, I was on the card a fair bit so played ok, still very few fairways and putting like a dweeb!!!! 50 points won it.
scrapped in with 37 points this morning. second Friday in a row I have beaten my cap so happy about that.
First ever round today playing off single figures in the Friday comp at Richmond...
42 points (21/21) with a wipe means I won't be drifting out any time soon.

Great score, KJ.
great round KJ - which hole did you wipe?
Cheers, guys. Plenty of clutch putting involved, both on and off the green.
Dan, wiped 11. Pushed 3 wood off the tee, tried punching my 2nd out but came back to me off a tree in front, 3rd in front left trap, 4th over green and into a crap lie, and from there couldn't get my double.
Other than that and a double on the 1st, it was 2 birdies and 14 pars.
49 points in the 2 ball, 40 in the 2 ball scratch...had a partner who was hitting them pretty well too.
Won single and 2 ball, 0.9 off the cap for a new low of 7.7.
I'm waiting for the helicopter and search light to fly over...
Wow well done kj. Helicopter being dispatched in time for tomorrow's round
Bloody hell KJ, nothing like the pressure of your first round in singles to pull out a 42 pointer. That's top quality golf there, well done!
I can remember a time in my Ozgolf life when I gave KJ 10 shots, and he had about 27 points around Camden Lakeside off about 16. Now he'll be giving me a shot (or more) next time we play.
I had 35 around Palmer Colonial today playing with Petey D.
More details are in the Champs Friday thread, but in a nutshell I started really well and finished poorly. So I'm not sure whether I'm almost in form, or about to fail badly over the weekend at Sanctuary Cove.

Not really just me but we played in the Holden Scramble regional final at Ulverstone yesterday. It rained all day and the course is pretty long and tight.
Anyway I played pretty crap overall but did make a bit of a contribution, hit some good shots when needed. Our team shot -10 off the bat and never looked like making a bogey all day, in fact we should've been 3 or 4 better - we had 2 six footers for bird that we missed, had a massive lipout for eagle that hit the back of the cup and didn't go in, as well as plenty of other near misses on the greens - we just couldn't get any luck.
Imagine our surprise and disappointment that we finished 3rd, only .4 behind the winners. Bah.
The prize? A new putter each (Odyssey White Hot Pro #7). How ironic.
I remember that round at Lakeside too well, Jim. That B grader is well and truly put to pasture.
76/67 today. It'll be nett 66 for club champs given I started them on a daily cap of 10.
Besides a double on 8, nothing too disappointing.
I was 10 shots off the lead after round 2...could possibly play myself into contention.
Next week is Oz Senior PGA so round 4 is in a fortnight.
Like Jim, I was dreading the day that an 'old head' found its way permanently onto 'young shoulders'.
Great work, KJ, and it's been a pleasure to watch your game develop.
Best wishes for the rest of the champs.
You don't get me. I'm part of the Union.
Thanks Dotty.
That said, today was my 42nd comp round of the year. According to my Golflink those 42 constitute just over half of my total number of comp rounds over the past 4 years.
Says a lot for playing once a week...
32 points (15/17) in the first round of the GC Classic - 10 shots off the pace so will need to pull off a very big one tomorrow (no homo) if I'm going to have a respectable score - only one three-putt for the day and just one yip - good times
Played Ellenbrook course at The Vines today. First time I have ever played 18 holes without it being an ambrose. Was hard going for me. Shot 111 with the upside of averaging 2 putts a hole for the round. Spend a lot of time trying to hit out of sand traps with very little success and that cost me a lot of shots.
Nothing worse than hitting out of a bunker on one side of the green for it to run across green into bunker on the other side.
Won my semi final of the Club Matchplay Championship today with a birdie on the 20th hole.
Final over 36 holes in two weeks time, woohoo!

Congrats Steve good luck in the final
Go Steve!
Well done Steve!!!!
I had my 3rd of my club champs and I didn't play well. It didnt help I played with 2 of the slowest players ever. We were 1.5-2 holes behind all day. Had 84, 45 on the front and 39 coming home. Need to par the last 3. I found out this morning its good enough for me to scrap into the final 16 seeded draw for today and I'm actually in the top 12.
Hopefully I can get my mojo back, shoot a defend score and get inside the top 8 for match play.
Either way I've exceeded expectations already this year!!!
