Blades Only Day Sun 3 July, Cabramatta
Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone would be interested in "Blades Only" golf day.Was thinking of organising an OzGolf day somewhere in Sydney or outskirts for all of us to have a round with that set of blades we own that we never have the guts to play comp with.
Just expresses of interest is all I'm after at this time, and apologises to anyone who feels left out because they don't own a set of blades.
Let me know what you all think and if there's enough people for at least 2 groups, I'll get the ball rolling for the day
Ok guys, so the first annual OzGolf Blades Day will be held at Royal Cabra as it seems to be the best for all round location for everyone in Sydney - sorry Hatchman. And I think mrbluu' s suggestion of mid morning Sunday July 3rd is fine.
So far, the 'relatively' confirmed invitees (for matty) are:
vader77
Jazz18
wazandnic - borrowed set pending
Peppas - borrowed set pending
KristianJ
Anfield
mrbluu
Dotty
noren
Captain Nemo
Matt 3 Jab

5-PW is fine to me. I might stipulate, set must have at least 6 blade irons. No combo sets. We want to make it a purely blade competition.

With acceptance from other competitors, i have a set of MP-32s you can borrow for the day Waz.... I regard them close enough to blades.

I am definitely in for this. This is the perfect day to give my Macgregor PMB's a run. 3-PW butter knives, awesome!
Calling Matty 3 jab! We can have a Macgregor off! No guessing who'll win that!

Surely you boys will break out the persimmons if you are having a blade day.

Correct JC, assuming I'm around I will have the Cobra persimmon driver, 3 wood and Cobra Tour Model II blades.

How does that differ from my usual Saturday round? Driver, fairway, two hybrids, three wedges, a putter and six matching clubs that I'm never close enough to the green to use.
Although I could drag an old set of Ping Zings out of the cupboard.
You don't get me. I'm part of the Union.

Wish I had some to put in play and I would for sure. I might try and find some or even just some old metal woods at the very least. Those first metal woods to replace persimmon were tiny!

Thanks mate! May even take it as an opportunity to acquire some. I'm a bit of a traditionalist (re: Bullseye!) even though I've never used a set, but like the idea of them!
And I think 5-PW is ok provided NO Hybrids are allowed. Should be Driver, fairway and then irons.
Also be interesting to take lob and gap wedges out of the equation, but that may be taking it too far?

yes Moss Vale, would be sweet for this as would Mt Broughton I reckon just because of the feel around that place and in the club house... just maybe need to play off the social tees perhaps!
Alt. something like the Coast or even Randwick could work??
