    Default G'day from Melbourne.

    G'day all,

New to the forum and thought I'd post to say hello to all.

Back into golf in a big way after a lengthy hiatus due to work and family life ..,. It's good to be back.

Finally got myself a golflink HC and enjoy playing Saturday comps ... Plenty of work to do to get my HC where I want it, that the joy and challenge of golf.

Anyway, great forum and look forward to asking never ending newbie Q's.

    Later.

Sure is mate. Have a read through this one:

You're welcome to join us on any and all days. We need another player for the Friday at Victoria GC (which has its own thread here: http://www.ozgolf.net/showthread.php?t=41718), you'd fit the bill nicely. But if not then at least the weekend would be great.

Welcome Deester. Good to see more Vics on board.
Still not playing enough GolfLink | Slightly less terrible stats brought to you by Golfshot - F: 57%, GIR: 23%, UD: 14%, P: 34. Wow, improvement! | Nickent brand ho or tightarse? You be the judge!

    G'day Deester.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

G'day Lefty,I'll have a read through the thread mate and see if I can make it happen. Currently in Thailand till early Feb and work weekdays, so I'd hazard a guess that the weekend slot would be most likely mate.Again, thanks for the info !

    Cheers oldracer,

Currently a member at Centenary Park as it's very local and makes weekly play very accessable.

Also play St Andrews Beach, Moonah and Dunes often and on occasion Peninsula when the invite arises.

Surprisingly, I find Centenary a hard track to post a solid score ... Not exactly sure why, might have something to do with the length of the course, especially the last 4-5 holes (excluding the 18th) when coming into the 19th ... Great track for a public course and a great bunch of blokes there.

Currently can't justify the expense of a private membership with work and family only permitting one day a week golf at the best of times.
    Cheers.

Hmmm, was sure I posted a reply to this .... Here goes again.

Thanks for the invite mate, appreciate it.

I'll have a read of the thread and if I can get the planets to align I'd definitely be interested for sure.

Currently in Thailand until early Feb and with work I'd hazard a guess that the weekend slot would be most likely at this stage.

Again, thanks for the invite and info !

My pleasure Deester, just to let you know, cutoff for the weekend dates was to be this Friday but I can give you until mid next week if that helps. You're more than welcome for only one day if that's all you can make too, just FYI.

Don't listen to him Deester. The South have won both instalments of the Uncivil War (including last years 16-8 absolute trouncing) and are HEAVY favourites to run the three-peat. Any posturing by the Union scum is purely firing blanks.

    G'day Lefty,

Doesn't look like the planets will align for the Vic champs mate, I'm back on the morning of the Sat round and will be fried from the return flight ... Sigh. Thanks for the invite, most appreciated.

I will keep an eye on any up coming Vic rounds in the future, would be great to get out for a round with the Vic crew.

    Cheers.

Shame, but no problem at all Deester. Thanks for trying mate! I think we'll make more of an effort to arrange a mid-year single day event this year for all the VIC's to catch up.

    G'day lefty ...

Yeah mate, that would be great. Hopefully it will be a weekend round, as work and family limit me to "weekend warrior" status.

All the best for the Vic champs, looks like a great 4 days of golf !

    Cheers.

    Thanks for the welcome Grunt.

Was going to ask the same thing ... If they had Titleist embroidered on em I'd be sporting a pair on the course
