    Default Swing Epiphany.....Yes another one.

A bit of a long story but anybody who has seen me hit a ball in the last 12 months will know that I've been having trouble getting the pill in the air.
In fact it has been frustrating the shit out of me and has spread from my irons through to other usually reliable areas of my game eg; driver, bunker play etc.
It was about a year ago that I got a lesson at the Oxley driving range,Richard the Pro there checked out the video of my swing and told me that my shoulder plane was too flat.Fair enough I thought so since then I have been trying to steepen my shoulder plane by taking it back more vertically and really driving my right shoulder down and thru with mixed results, the theory seemed sound but I just could'nt get any consistencey out of my iron play.
So Friday it was off to the range and with wifey tagging along I got her to video my swing on the mobile phone, twas looking good and I felt like I was swinging well.I got home and transferred the video to my PC and had a bit of a look....
It sort of dawned on me then that in a effort to steepen my shoulder plane my shoulder turn was so out of whack it was'nt funny. At impact my left shoulder was so high it was dragging the club away from the ball and making me hit thin shots.
Anyway the washup is that today I went down to the Logan City Range and hit a bucket....all I thought about was turning my shoulders level and to stop pulling my left arm up and away from the ball. From the first swing I got my trajectory and my slight draw back.
So here's hoping this is a permanent fix and I can start hitting some decent irons shots again.

.. maybe you should worry more about your spelling

    ..anyway...

Gaz, glad to hear you got that stuff sorted mate, i know it's been eating at you for a while now. The only advice i can give you (being as one who gets to have a round with you more often than others) is that your ball position tends to creep further back in your stance the further the round progresses .... maybe that has something to do with it as well

Gaz, I think you swing the club great mate
I know you don't like the ball flight you get sometimes, but you still
    hit solid shots consistantly.

From watching you over the years I think your low ball flight has more
to do with your ball position. It creeps a bit to far back in your stance
causing you to trap the ball to early on the downswing.
This is something Jarro and myself have noticed while playing with you
    recently.

I swing the club on a fairly flat plane as well and if anything, I hit
    the ball to high

Good to hear the draw has returned

    Thanks you 2.
I've been trying to keep an eye on my ball position lately and thought it was well forward ....will have to focus on that.

You're going down Blake, the GazMan is gonna smash you

Reread your initial post again and tell me there isn't any spelling errors

Thats not a mistake Jarro - I have always spelt it that way.

On your second point, I am playing Div 1 pennants against the top (undefeated) team the next day. Chances are fairly high that my opponent plays off 2 or better. (no scrubbers in their team)

If Gaz smashes me the day before - hoo boy, am I going to be somewhat apprehensive about the next day...... (anyone got a rope?)

p.s. Ha! thats what you said last time, and you were right! Since when have you ever been right twice

Last time I checked, Gaz's golflink record wasn't working.

Gaz, why don't you chuck up a clip of your swing for others to have a sticky beak at?
