dc68 - do you wanna play our match on Saturday at the champs ?

I'm pretty busy at the moment too, and I haven't played Kooralbyn in 10 years, so it's a neutral venue for me.

Well seeing as I have played there 4-5 times this year and having another hit there on the 18th it sounds ok..... Seriously if we can play before then it would be preferable, last thing I want in a champs round is to be worrying about how the match is going. IF there is no option I have no problem with it though.

Mate, it's not people bailing that's the problem, it's matches not being played on time that stuffs it all up. I played one match in May then I had to rush to get the next one played because of previous delays. Doesn't work for me so I bailed and I won't make the mistake of putting my name down next year.

If I can offer any advise it would be to set out to have the Matchplay Draws done before Xmas and enforce the time limits. NSW has been a real hassle due to the difficulty in getting games organised. You guys have way more games than us down here so should have done this much easier. We will have our champ by the end of this week (Sunday).

Both NSW and Qld have had forfeits, and Vic hasn't even really started. Not exactly a huge success, but I'd rather it stayed.

I agree. I think it'd be a shame for it to be dropped. This year was my first chance to play in it and I got rolled first round. I don't think enforcing the deadlines is gonna do anything other than cause forfeits since they are occuring anyway!

where did all this talk about dropping the Matchplay come from. just because one player has pulled out?

There is already a discusson thread about possible changes for next year to make it better. We could also rename it the Jarro Memorial.

I think just have it over a shorter time period so people can commit. eg we arrange games ever 2 weeks or something and all try and play on the same day. That way you know you have to commit for 4 games over 8 weeks. and its more of a tourney feel.

Just reading the tiger woods stats etc, I noticed that he won this years matchplay 8/7. Does this mean out g-man's efforts were tiger in stature???
