The difference between being rated 90 and 60 is how many raters include it on their list. The GA list will move a lot based on 3 extra raters. I'd need to look harder for the GD list we are discussing here as they have a stupid number of people that haven't seen anything on their list.
Country tracks definitely suffer from this. Narooma should probably sit in the 50-70 tier somewhere.

Whats the normal green fee at RM?
The senior OOM just opened for entries and they want $250

Criticism doesn't bother me, as it means I am doing something and people are watching.

I’ll bite, how many are on the GA panel, and how many of the 100 have they seen?

SH,
I can’t tell you how many for the recent GA mag top 100 but the 2022 ranking was done by 35 course raters. I would suspect between 40 and 50 for the latest list. All of the raters that I know personally (at least 5) really know there GCA sh*t and travel extensively. The GA editor (who has just left the mag) used to require each rater to visit at least 25 different courses in a rating period. All up, I think 163 courses were rated for the latest list. In addition, there were 10 courses that withdrew from ranking as they were undertaking reno’s etc plus some that don’t wish to be rated (Ellerston, Capital in melb). Bruce is correct that more plays tend to make it easier to climb up the list…as the ranking scores will have an element of a Bell curve. A lot of visits are done on the quiet. Most of the raters I know, pay a green fee and do not indicate that they are doing a rating on a visit. The rater I know best would have seen approximately 60 of the top 100 in the last 4 years…and probably 95/100 in the last 8 years!

Somewhat more than $250 unless you have a member introduction or are reciprocal.

I was looking to book a trip there next year, somewhere between March and June and they said they couldn't take my booking due to large retic works that they are carrying out.

Pete of the 10 not rated, I can think of Commo, Huntingdale, Royal Sydney, Long Island, maybe Mount Lawley, what others?
Also does anyone know where Capital would go, would even be top 100?
