Default Walleroo Thursday April 25th ANZAC Day 9:30am

Starting a new thread rather than editing the hell out of the other one.

As there has been no other suggestions to have a hit anywhere else in my EOI thread I will be having a hit at Walleroo. Others are more than welcome to join me.
I'm not hard set on a time to play leaving it open for any one partaking in Dawn Service ceremonies being able to join in also.
Tee off time open for discussion.

Be good to catch up Waz.

I gave them a call yesterday and there is no need to book. Just rock up and play.
Will make Tee time 9:00 so no one has to rush. We'll go when all are there and ready to go.

I'm still in (as per other thread).
See you guys there at 9:00am tomorrow.
A mate played there 6 months ago and said the course looked a bit dry.
Hope it's had a drink since.

This one shows the mounding the best. The other pics don't show how high they are.

Greens are less than 12 months old, very small and mostly flat lacking any contours or shape.
Grass coverage is good considering they are so young. Currently long, slow and a little bumpy. Hopefully that will change when they can cut them a bit lower.
Chipping is challenge if you miss left, right or over the back as all holes have mounds surrounding the greens.

    Hatch

the surrounds appear to be kikuyu.
What grass has been used for the greens?

Add a bit of red sand and you could be on about half of the holes at Murray Bridge with those pictures.

From Tee to Green it’s thick lush Kikuyu. No run off tee shots and no bump and run game into the Greens.
Not sure what exact grass variety the greens are but it’s that salt resistant Couch variety seen on a few Greens around the state now. Bit like Santa Ana or it could possibly could be Santa Ana.

I would say they're couch greens.

Doing some Googling I’ve found they’ve gone with Santa Ana for the Greens.
I hope they start cutting them tighter before it thatches up.
