Anyone know why they dont replace divots or add sand to the divots on the PGA Tour.

... or is it something that the lower class comes through later on and does for them ?

Maybe... i played Scottsdale National, and we are told not to fix bunkers, divots or plugmarks.

A greenkeeper follows each group and does that. I dont recall seeing a single sand filled divot on the fairways.

How the hell is that sustainable... unless wages are $5 per hour.

Owned by the PXG guy. The golf course/club is uniquely differerent... google it. Never saw anyone else on the course, but about 20 in clubhouse after. Maybe when its full, not a greenkeeper per group. But i did see him discretely following us.

Good point, many players just step on the divots and walk off. Problem is that the action is being copied by members at my club along with shouting out “Fore left” etc. after a wayward drive.

On the actual PGA Tour that is something the greens staff do after the round.

But there are plenty of US Country Club courses where the players don't get supplied with sand, and it is assumed that is something the greens staff do later on. One of the reasons for 20k annual fees I guess.

I remember back in the olden days this was an issue, particularly at courses that attracted Japanese golfing tourists who had no idea the player was expected to do anything, even rake bunkers.

Some grass types like couch/Bermuda it's pointless replacing divots anyway because it doesn't take and just dies. Much better filling them with sand or whatever and letting the surrounding grass grow over it.

    Watch Jason Day presently..
Did he steal some of MC Hammer's poo catchers from 1991 ?

or are they just rain pants with a belt.

Could be old fella pants, but more likely some sort of rain pant from what it looks like to me.

I understand this is a safe place.. I may have a bit of a swing-crush on ABerg. I think the age difference might be an issue though.

There is no other swing on tour i would rather have.

It's not as safe as you think.

Maybe he’s got some Madness songs in his Spotify account and had Baggy Trousers on repeat.

The Golf Monthly website has a host of funny Twitter posts about his pants. McGinley and Faldo had a good laugh about them.

I have got 2 pairs of Mizuno rain pants like that, they are not designed to be "over" pants. But they look better on me.

    Watched the Zurich last night.

And i hate to say it.. but that was painful to watch 2 guys who played so well - just choke and die on the 1st play-off hole.
We have all done it.. so said with no malice - but they both just slowed play to a crawl and folded over and died.

Hard to watch with so much at stake for those guys who dont get a chance like that often.

Yeah I watched as well, poor guys finished there round around 3 hours before the play off, lots of time to go cold even though I am sure they hit on the range.

So this week is Signature event, and there is Rory and a couple others standing up.
JDay has had a shocker of a 3rd round. He is currently 5 over.. and just not hitting greens.

For those playing at home.. Watch Rory from inside 120m. He is DREADFUL. Like we have 6 markers who hit is closer more often,

    BUT.

Watch the swing - if he abbreviates the follow though - the shot is good.. if he completes a full follow through, the shot is woeful. (for those technically minded, you cant abbreviate the follow through if you have the club "stuck" behind on the down swing, so Rory is struggling with right elbow to far back and inside)

    Play at home..

(Also what is the love affair with Sebb Straka, we see every shot of his... even when 15 shots behind ??)
