The comment I’m quoting part of here mentions Steele. Agree he’s a nobody, which is why he fits that list of winners. Also, Pendrith has played on pres cup and went 0-0-4. Ouch.

Steele has 3 PGA wins and won over $20mil while playing on it

I wouldn't mind being a nobody with that resume.

Agree. Although I’d also be happy to be nobody without his money, just with his golf ability.

Can you expand on that for me? I’ve never heard that term used for a golfer before, with the exception of Yoss being referred to as an ass by numerous people online.

The journeyman that nobody wants to watch who made his money over a long career, the last win being a fair while ago. For Brendan his one top 10 in 20+ majors, he doesn't and never has moved the needle.

So pretty much 95% of the tour.

Is Steele no longer a mule because he has a recent win, or does he only need to tick the majority of boxes?

I always thought he was a SAFFA until a half hour ago. I like him better now.

If you’re not turning on the tv to watch him, he’s a mule.

I don’t see any of them except for major and Ryder Cup weeks.

I watch the LPGA week to week.

    Rory, OBerg and the Aussies.

Not sure who else if left to watch... LIV has really stolen the big players.

yeah. If you look at the players world ranking when they joined LIV, then thats almost half of the top 50.

Of course its a bit abitrary whatever way one decides to analyse this, but no matter which, thats a bloody huge chunk out of the worlds best.

I also think the shotgun start was a masterstroke.

Especially from a spectator point of view.

    +1

Due only getting to see the same 4-6 players, I cancelled Foxtel 25 years ago and I haven't watched an Aus Open/PGA for about 10 years. Originally, I had no intention to watch LIV (due to ethics of poaching players), but I moved house in December with no FTA aerial, so running everything via Iview, 7Plus, etc.

In 2024, I have watched every second of LIV events (up to Day 2 in Adelaide), as it takes me a week to watch each 5 hour day of LIV. Video disc replays from other holes (e.g. eagles, chip-ins, par 3 tee shots) and fluctuations in the team scores keep me focused and away from the fast forward / off buttons.

The LIV player rest breaks are a bonus, as I can catch up on Adelaide and Singapore, before the next event in June.
You don't get me. I'm part of the Union.

Then you can watch the replay. Crunching it down into a more manageable time window is excellent. No one has time to watch 4x 10hr+ golf telecasts a weekend. Less time commitment and more shots shown is a massive win.

    Exactly.

10 Hours of watching Biff, Taylor, Chad, Pearce, etc who are shooting 10 over is not "coverage"
