    Default Golf trip to SA

The pro at my club is organising a trip to Adelaide in March '17 . Playing Royal Adelaide , grange east and west and
    Kooyonga
Cost is 1600 which includes most stuff except airfares .

What do you guys reckon is it worth doing not so much in terms of value for money but for the golfing and the courses.

We have a couple of S.A OzGolfers that are members at Royal Adelaide and Kooyonga who may care to comment on their home tracks.

Getting a game at all 4 it's around $80-90 a game playing as a members guest and roughly $160 as a Visitor

I played all 4 listed many times over a long period of time so will give my opinion.
Royal Adelaide and Kooyonga definitely worth it.
Grange is good but I don't rate it a highly as many do and that may be because I've played both of them a lot.
You may get more out of Grange having never played it before and have a different opinion.

Is this the Pro that shafted you out of a game?

    Royal Adelaide is a must.
    Kooyonga 2nd
But would put Glenelg before either Grange Courses.

We have a similar trip with our club in February, $1150.00 pp for 3 days at Barnbougle inc. flights.
Next years is booked out but must try it one day.

    $1600 is a little steep.

Just jumping on their respective websites. Green fees would be $725.00 for visitors to play all 4 you listed.
So where is that extra $875.00 going? Accomodation?

There is accommodation four nights and I would assume the pro has a fee built in for him leading the tour

I rate the golf trip to Adelaide but have no interest in paying for some club pro nonce to take along on my dime. @$1600 with no flights it seems overs but you may be staying high end.

Organise it yourself, stay in Glenelg (hotel or Airbnb) go to the cricket or the footy at Adelaide Oval, Morphetville Races a couple of tram stops from Glenelg. Another option is a trip down to Links Lady Bay, few beers and dinner in the cellar at the Victory Hotel or the Star of Greece.

You would need to engage in some letter writing if doing it private.
RA and Kooyonga not the easiest to get on unless connected!

As others have said you can do it cheaper yourself. The advantage of the trip with the pro is you'll be part of a group for golf and socialising, if that's appealing to you go with it. Otherwise do your own trip at a time of your choosing. Happy to help with RA if you go the latter route (disclaimer- I'm away for about 9 months on and off next year)

Adelaide golf courses are like city nightclubs, they have a door biatch trying to tell you the place is full and you will need to pay. In the end, you get through the door and the place is empty.

How so Chilled, I have been on 5-6 tours to Adelaide, we have never had any trouble getting on RA or Kooyonga, albeit you get a bit of grief going in. Interested in your thoughts.
