Default Fairly New Golfer North West Tasmania

Hey name is Phil and I started playing earlier in the year at the age of 31 and have really fallen in love with the game even though I am a pretty rubbish golfer at the moment.
I have just moved to the North West of Tasmania and will be looking at joining a club here so I can hopefully graduate from rubbish to at least being average.

    Welcome Phil.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

Hoping to finally get a round in this weekend after a few weeks of unpacking looking at probably playing at the closest course to me Devonport or Ulverstone in the North West of Tas

    Welcome aboard Phil!

I don't really know what the clubs themselves are like in terms of costs, being welcoming, etc but I personally enjoy playing Ulverstone just a little more than Devonport. I guess pick the one you like the look of the best! (I'm based in Launnie)

G'day Phil, have you been to Barnbougle?

Do you know anyone who has?

Yeah know a few people who have and sounds amazing and I reckon I will be playing it next year once I hone my craft a bit more.

I know Barnbougle is more about the experience then the score card but you also wouldn't put a learner driver in a sports car is the way I am looking at it.

You must tell someone who hasn't been about how good it is.

    I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

ps. And don't leave out any details.
