    Default Melbourne membership

    Hi guys

    Thinking about joining up for a golf membership in Melbourne. The main things I want to get out of it is;
    - Official handicap
    - Occasional comps
    - Varied courses

I like to play at different courses, so I'm not sure how that works with a traditional course membership.

    Does something like that exist?

    Advice is appreciated!

    Thanks

RACV golf membership might give you what you want if you don't want to play varied courses?
Still not playing enough GolfLink | Slightly less terrible stats brought to you by Golfshot - F: 57%, GIR: 23%, UD: 14%, P: 34. Wow, improvement! | Nickent brand ho or tightarse? You be the judge!

RACV or Qantas . There are some clubs that will give you a cheap membership and look after your cap , think keys borough was offering 350 membership for 5 games and your handicap .
If you are in outer east you can join a Gippsland club and they are fairly cheap , they then allow you to play in each other's courses

I know its not in Melbourne but try Coomealla. Link below.
Its cheap to be a member and have a hcp. A fair few of the guys I play with here in SA are members.
They travel up there twice a year for a hit and giggle. Another bonus is they have a weekly draw of up to $10,000.
Don't know if you have to be there to collect.
Membership to the sporting club is $11 which is compulsory and $149 to the golf club.

Other than that get the Qantas Golf Club for about $150 per year to get a hcp. Free if you don't need a hcp and don't want Tier 1 courses.
Once you go yellow, you will never go back

SGA or GSM are cheap options that give you GL HC.

GSM have some good course in their stable.

Was a GSM member before Keysborough only really used it for St Andrews but they have decent rates and comp days that you can play in at any of there courses

Good value if you dont really play a lot but still want a handicap

He's more into manscaping I think.

My post was just a totally pointless, off topic RATM lyric quote that happened to fit into the thread nicely.
