    Default Pleased to meet you

Ladies & Gentlemen, please allow me to introduce myself. Golf has been my one true passion for more years than I can remember, however I've never managed to achieve the level of skill that I so much desire, but geez, I've had fun along the way. I've personally watch 4 holes in one by my playing partners while seeing my own efforts stop millimeters short of the target. Rather than kill me, this only made me stronger. Like any good golfer, I've always know that it's not my fault that I fail often, it's my clubs. A good golfer always blames him gear, and I'm a good golfer. So I've done something about that and in recent days I updated to Cleveland 588 TT irons. At least now, if I fail, I will know it's not the clubs fault, it's probably the balls I'm using.
So there's my golfing history. My life history is not so dramatic. Sydney Northern Beaches boy, living in the Sutherland Shire now. Chef/restaurateur by night, golfer by day, tennis on the day off.
I came here because some time ago, while google searching for a handicap app for my android, I came across a handy one written by a member here, BGH. I've been using it ever since and finally decided to join the community that he supports. He does good work and you all have a great little thing going here, so it's really nice to be a part of it.

Welcome CC. Love the intro, but I'm concerned that you might have overlooked the dramatic improvement to be gained by upgrading your golf shoes.
Still not playing enough GolfLink | Slightly less terrible stats brought to you by Golfshot - F: 57%, GIR: 23%, UD: 14%, P: 34. Wow, improvement! | Nickent brand ho or tightarse? You be the judge!

Welcome aboard CC. Food and golf, both passions of mine too but sometimes think that sometimes I should go back to tennis!

    Nice intro CC.

I could be a great golfer too, but I feel I am being held back by my budget.

    Welcome to the forum.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

I've got 588TT's, and they are in my garage as my reserve set. They are good, but not the magic wands I had hoped they would be.

They were released least two years ago, and most Ozgolfer's who read threads like this will have a newer set of clubs waiting for you to reach 40 posts so they can sell them to you.

From the Shire, eh? That limits your golf to Cronulla, Woolooware or Kareela unless you are prepared to travel. And no Shire resident ever likes to cross the Capt Cook bridge.

Hi jimandr, you guessed right with Kareela, and I have crossed the bridge. I remember it well cause Gough Whitlam's government had just been dismissed the day before.
