    Default Week commencing May 25

Finally won a shark lake challenge shirt!

85/69. Putting was solid, had a lot of up and downs but hardly hit a green today.

Nice pete, I had a net 78, couldn't get off the tee in the first 12 holes to save my life. It all clicked after that, but damage was done. You will go close to winning I reckon, only one player beat handicap last month.

32pts for me today my best effort in weeks.

3 doubles on holes I don't get a shot on hurt. 2 possible NTP's. 4th hole 9iron to 6ft missed the putt. Already know this didn't hold up because someone had a hole in one and the 11th hole 8iron to 2ft made the putt after it did a lap of honour

Other than the par 3's irons were off. 1 green in reg. Putting was ok by my standards though 31putts no 3putts and some good chips.

35 points at Reddy Bay today. Recovered from a shaky start but wiped the last to ruin it.

Played in a stroke event at Gordonvale and managed to play to handicap 81, net 70.

Played fairly consistently all day but struggled a bit over the last few holes and finished with two soft bogeys in annoying drizzling rain.

The greens are in slightly better nick tjan the last time I played. The club has now actually employed a qualified greenskeeper so hopefully they will continue to improve.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

    Stableford @ Kapunda today.

Having massive issues hitting driver into play still. Spaying it all over the place like a Tom Cat.
No consistency what so ever. Blocks, fades, gash cuts, pulls, draws and duck/snap hooks. I'm hitting them all in the same round ffs.
Total # drives inside the tree line stood at 2. First one was on the 12th hole finding fairway. Second one on 17th. I hit it pure and run out of fairway through into the concrete section of the hazard (normally only reach that on big down wind days and today was head wind )

Worst drive for the day was a massive duck hook on the par 5 7th finishing 120m left of the fairway. Had a clear shot straight back up the 8th fairway. Blocked 5 wood out of cabbage lie into the tree line between 7&8. Hit 9iron from 115m over trees off hard pan lie to 5 foot and made the bird for 4 points. Almost feel guilty being crap enough to get a shot on that hole now.

The whole day was just a struggle all day day with plenty of wasted chances to make a decent score. 5 3 stabs if you count the 4 that were putted from just off the edge of the green. Doubled the par 4 11th from 40m out for two in the centre of fairway. Doubled the par 4 18th from the drive 50m out for a wipe.

All up 34 points was not a bad result and a flagged round with how poorly the driver was being hit. Jetspeed is being benched after today. SLDR will be used for pennant game at Goat track Mt Lofty tomorrow. It will be a very quick short day with a repeat driver performance around there.

Even better news - exact handicap has me at 9.8. First time in (technical) single figures in nearly 20 years. Now the mission is to play off single figures - off 10 next round...

    An exceptionally frustrating 31 points.

Hit four bad shots all day which all resulted in doubles, they were all with the new wedges as well. But I also chipped in once and nearly holed two bunker shots. Had my ball stolen on the 9th by a group coming up but didn't see it happen. Wiped the last trying to score a 3 pointer to win the triple press that was occurring. Golf.

We had a 5/5/5 game going, so front 9, back nine and overall. We won the front and the press. The press is essentially a double or nothing. So 10 dollars on the front.

We won the back and that match on the 15th and 16th respectively. They pressed both, we were 1 up the 9 and square the match on the 18th. So it would have been a tasty 30 dollars.

    Welcome brother.

Although today's pennant game was a return to how I was striking it 2 years ago leaving me some what more pleased.

Don't know what your problem was. Ah yes I remember it seemed as if you were going backwards more often than forwards.
83/74 on Saturday and 82/73 on Sunday. Happy with the striking of the ball since I had that little tip at the ProAm. 2 Birdies in a row but followed
with a triple on the next hole. Bloody Game!

    30/5/2015 - Stableford

Not so good on Saturday. 29 points. 1 birdie. Only 2 fairways all day. Drove the ball like poo. R11 will be sacked. Will be going back to my 910 or my i15. Trying to forget the rest of the round, especially the shank with a 9 iron on 14 from the middle of the fairway to make double. Iron play still not bad ( except for the sh$&@) and putting was ok. Too sick to do stats so will just chalk it up to a bad day of golf. Good day though cause my playing partners were good blokes. Cheers
