Default Week commencing 15 September 2014

I must firstly say that it was good to be on the course again after three weeks off.

I can also say that according to other threads I should be happy with my 34 points at Ballina today, but other posters would suggest I should be unhappy because I didn't play to handicap.

In actuality, I'm a bit both. I played alright, and some bad putting cost me a better score, but it could have been a lot worse.

4BBB Stableford today. Me and my partner chopped it up for 40 points. My personal score was 28 with 5 wipes. As soon as I went in a bunker it was end of hole, and I did that 5 times...

I think I know where I need to practice most...

I played under my handicap for 9 holes today (19 points) for the first time in months and months. Hit it average but scrambled and putted well.

Unfortunately followed that up with a brilliant 10 points on the second 9 (the front) for 29 total.

    I give up.

Absolute shocker in the first round of Champs today. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from 15ft if I tried. 87/80. 1 fairway, 2 GIR.

34 points yesterday. Had basically given up on my round when it was redeemed by a 5 point eagle on the 17th. This game just screws with your head sometimes...

Finally I had a good day after a few weeks of utter frustration, (and mozzies), came in with 40pts, 23/17. On the front my worst score was a 7/1 BUT I did manage a 3/4 on the Index 1 4th hole - such a stupid game at times! Back nine really should have been better, one wipe and 2x one pointers ..... Still a good day Must have been 'the' bag Wenz!

Highlight of the round, well apart from the birdie, and although technically after the round, was seeing on the notification board that Coalesce missed out on $525 in the Friday night clubhouse draw, (you have to be there to collect!), rest assured we all had a good laugh at your expense Coalie

I was still at work at the time I would have had to be there to win. It's not like I missed out because I decided not to go!

But it was the icing on the cake yesterday after walking off with a disappointing score

Think you have to be there between 5-6pm or similar!? Still you got off pretty lightly, last time we noticed when one of 'our' mob lost out we hung around for an hour to let him know at the 18th He was on such a high having putted to win the $3, only to find he'd lost out on $325 - Scottish too he was

Well done Nadg nice return to form!

Played Kooyonga this morning with Chilled. Never played there before had 34pts including 2wipes and 2 birdies.

Sensational course absolutely loved it. Can have a real crack with the driver on most holes. But have to be accurate with approaches.
Fairways like carpet and greens in perfect nick.

The spare hole the 19th would be a good hole on any course.

Many thanks to Chilled for getting me a game there.

Well done, not played there for years, (a good friend used to be in their pennant squad), but was always in good nick when I did - as you'd expect I suppose!

How long are you predicting until you get over this one? Even when I have a really shitty day I find that by the middle of the next week I'm itching to play again...

29pts with some big hitting off the tee, 2 shanks, a NTP and some flushed irons. Only 1 3putt, but 3 washes.

Had fun but. First game back since smashing my left pinky finger playing footy.

I had a big day on Sat beating my personal best score at Cumberland by 6 strokes.

    IMG_1622.jpg

As a result, I won this trophy!

They filled it with the beer and I got to have my own Rory moment. It was one of the best days of my golfing life!
