Special: FNQ Golfing Odyssey

Lefty & Marto are coming to town for the City of Cairns week of golf, culminating in the 54 hole Classic from Friday to Sunday (next week).

Lefty & I will be attempting to complete 8 rounds in 6 days, accompanied at various times by Haysey, Solarman, DCanto, Marto, Bushy and potentially others. There are separate 1st tee threads for organizing these rounds, but I thought I'd start a separate one to track the results of the rounds and any side bets occurring thoughout the Odyssey (including my bunny status ).

Wednesday - CoC Individual Stableford combined with team ball

Team ball: We had 22pts on the first nine (with a wipe) and then Solarman hooked it into the drain on the 1st (our 10th) and it was never to be seen again!
Bunny Matchplay: despite leading the stableford scoring, I was defeated by Lefty 1 down.

I'll be doing a charity donation on the "bunny over / under". Last years margin of victory was 26 shots over 6 rounds plus 1 round of mini-golf.

Courty played off 7 last year and will be off 6 this time around, while (depending on results of this weekend) I'm likely to be off 3 at Cairns and PP and 2 for the others. Again we'll be doing Cairns Wed, Fri, Sat & Sun, with the blue tee challenge at Paradise Palms on the Thursday. New courses into the rota will be Royal Gordonvale, Half Moon Bay and Mareeba, where local knowledge is allegedly vital. Mini-golf will be scrapped this year due to scheduling conflicts.

Courty is admittedly in a mini form slump (32.5 point average over his last 6) while I'm playing steady if not spectacular golf (35.83 over last 6), but it would be naive to think that results will be so one-sided this year so I'm gonna go with:

Over / under line set at 25 strokes.

If I beat it, no donation to charity. Should I fail, $25 to go to BeyondBlue.

That's because the score in Gamebook is wrong. I had 83/80, not 84/81, and had 5 on 13, not the 6 that's in there.

You're probably right. It's not like I set the world on fire, either. In the end it all came down to one putt on the 18th at Half Moon Bay.

The Ironman was a close run thing until the 8th & final round at Mareeba where I got tired & sprayed it into almost every tree on the course.
