    It's the 3rd round mate. Cut him some slack.

    He can still choke tomorrow yet.

    He shot 2 under, which seems about average for the day. Still very much in the mix, as is one G Ogilvy!

    He's certainly coming into form at a lucrative time.

    Shame Ogilvy couldn't make the birdie after the break of hitting the flagstick. That ball was GOOOONE!

    Aussies have 10% of the field in the BMW, that's pretty cool.

    I still can't understand how a guy with a lacklustre year can be leading guys with great three win seasons and one guy with two majors and a WGC!?? Still haven't got the system right IMO.

    Got a better suggestion?

    You really have to think of the these last 4 events as the footy finals and not consider the season as a whole. At the moment they are just playing to stay alive and make it to the grand final (tour championship).

    Yeah I know it comes down to East Lake but it still could use a few tweaks.
    Compare Kirk;

    To Mcilroy;

    Or even Ogilvy;

    I guess perform at the right time and you're gold.

    There is no perfect solution unfortunately.

    If you see the the FedEx Cup as rewarding the best player of the year then just give it to McIlroy now, there is no point even playing the finals series.

    If you see it as a finals series where players compete throughout the year to qualify for the finals then have to perform when it counts against the best players from throughout the year, it's not too bad as it is.
