Don't think he will win it although he should. Will be in the top 3

    Guy McKenna sacked.

    Harsh or justified?

Harsh IMHO. Effectively has a team of kids who folded under the pressure of not having ablett for last part of the season. Whoever takes on coaching role will have a good few years ahead of them.

It's hard to tell. Maybe they didn't like the direction they were going.

    Not just Ablett.

    Dixon
    Gorringe
    Hutchings
    Russell
    May
    Smith

All missed at least 2 games with injuries after Ablett did his shoulder. McKenzie missed one too.

Wonder if they will try and lock in bomber Thompson before essendon realize he should stay on as coach and hirdy should be booted

Yep, very harsh. Has done well in my opinion to get them to the point of being competitive then big injuries to key players meant they missed the finals by a game.

Next coach will win a flag within 5 years and McKenna will get none of the credit he deserves.

(In saying this they got a hell of a lot of assistance in initial setup)

I'd be surprised if they haven't already got their replacement. There's probably only 4-6 coaches whose jobs would be 100% secure!

It is disappointing. Hopefully their suffering continues for a while longer though.

The supporters will be choosing between Hird and the club now. The Essendon Fan Excuses twitter account is having a great time

Have any of you seen Heretier Lamumba's speech from Collingwood's B&F?
It is bizarro shit, but you have to wait until over halfway through for it.

I'm of the opinion that the panel got caught up in the romance of him playing 250 in the GF, but you can't question the class of this bloke..

On the right hand side is where, at that exact moment, his team mates are posing for photos with the cup. He wasn't in the post game team poster in the paper the next morning.

I think it could have gone to any of Hodge, Mitchell, or Lewis. My personal preference was Mitchell, because he was massive at the start of the game when the game was there to be won, and because I like the idea of reversing the captain/Norm Smith roles from 2008.

I picked Hodge, but thought Mitchell would have been a deserving winner.

Heritier's speech seemed reasonable to me. He's obviously a little bit out there, but he dug the boots into Collingwood and that makes it OK in my book.
Still not playing enough GolfLink | Slightly less terrible stats brought to you by Golfshot - F: 57%, GIR: 23%, UD: 14%, P: 34. Wow, improvement! | Nickent brand ho or tightarse? You be the judge!

Can you translate the end of that speech for me please, LL?
