    Default Wet Weather Gear

I'm not sure if this thread has been done, but due to a combination of getting completely soaked recently and not having bought anything in the last week I'm keen to get some quality waterproof gear. Had my eyes on some the Footjoy Short sleeve stuff, has anyone used these?? I'm not so fussed on brands.

Any thing else you boys would recommend and what should I be paying?

    Cheers

The Footjoy Tour Collection stuff is the grouse.

I bought a short sleeved jacket from this series. Fantastic. Don't think you can buy the Tour Collection S/Sleeve at retail outlets in oz but u can get it thru ebay US. That's where I got mine.

Probably their normal range of S/Sleeve ones are good too.

Crazy cheap (possibly too cheap which called into question its authenticity) A little over $60 posted.

When I got mine I noticed that the zips didn't have the footjoy tag. I contacted the seller who said that he got stock from store samples. Don't know if I believe him but I've worn the top in heavy rain and it performed great. He also knocked off another $10 bringing it back to $50

He restocks regularly so if you want to buy from him you might want to wait.
The one I got was this year's model (different cut of panels to the one in the below link and no adjustable cord at waist) in green & white.

Here's another one from the same guy

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DRYJOYS-F...71196032085%26

There were other sellers in US at varying prices. Just have to weigh up how tight arsed you want to be versus the risk of the garment being of quality.

    Very happy with mine.

Noticed Titleist's comment. The Sun ice gear is nice. I think they have quite a wide range with varying levels of performance. So check out which one you want.

Wrong state i know but I got a pair of pants from a golf shop in mandurah, there the pull over type, very light and waterproof guaranteed . For a top ive got a Nike waterproof jacket that's nice and light. It hasn't got heaps of that webbing stuff inside so it dosnt get too sticky on me. Worked well last week $60 for the jacket and $110 for the pants

No idea if they are still around or not.
I can highly recommend "Cleek". Mine are about 10 yrs old now and work just as well today as when I bought them. Will keep you bone dry and not sweet like a sauna suit like some.
I got these after having the best set of a couple others and finding I was still getting wet on really wet days. Never got wet every again when getting the 'Cleek's" and I played in some terrible wet rainy days that saw 50% of the fields pull out.

If you guys want to use it a bit more than just golf go get the Kathmandu pantrons gore-tex jacket it's pretty much a shell, nearly feel the weight and wear what you want underneath, you can get the same in north face but its about double the price.
