The extra weight is usually pretty evenly spread over the length of the shaft, so usually doesn't have a big impact on SW balance point.

If the shafts are the same? I would look at the tip length compared to he 58's if possible, dead weight of the club, pull them apart and check for something. New or secondhand purchase? If shafts are different then theres your issue. Mizuno make nice clubs but their assembly practices can be questioned.
I really like the 64's but they are not forgiving at all even compared to my mp33's The 58 are a little heavier in head weight than the 64's. Small sweet spot but wow when its found. They have been selling cheap on evil bay due the fact of being harder to hit than the mp4s. Let me know Im looking for a set.

The heavier shaft will allow you to regain around 1.5 points assuming both shafts are of similar balance points.

Shaft step pattern? Did you weigh the 58's to compare? The 64's must be lighter and stiffer! I would try some head weights if swingweight allows. Hope you get it right. Cheers

light grips would increase the swingweight

Most of the manufacturers make extra light grips these days. The issue is where to get them for a reasonable price. An ex OEM grip from one of the lightweight driver makers like Cleveland might be the best bet.

Ever since I owned a swingweight scale, I have playing with lots of different SW variables just to see what happens. I have found increasing or decreasing swingweight with grips, actually makes no difference to the feel or the performance of the club (IMO). I know a lot of people call BS on SW on this site, but personally I find it to be very important (once you know what you like).

I have changed SW (+3pts) by using a grip 20g lighter, and by using 6g of lead tape on the head. Grip change = no noticed change in feel. +6g lead tape, club felt heavier. I know static weight difference between the two is 26g, but I find I only notice the weight change while swinging.

Your mileage my vary though, but this is what I stick with.

    Cheers,
    Ben

I've been harping using grip weight to alter SW as mostly ineffective (in real world) for years. Just fooling the scale imo.

    Default sw is not bs

Fair call Benno! For my two dollars worth sw is so important once a player knows what he likes in relation to dead weight and balance preferences including sw. Many golfers just guess what weight balances they like and as such dont understand the specific details and performance benefits of a correct fitting club.

Tom Wishon says MOI matching has a greater affect than SW matching clubs. I can't find enough info (yet) to determine if MOI is something I can measure without Wishon's special machine.

now sure how to describe it... i can hear some sort of cracking sound on my wood shaft once swing through, is the shaft ducked?
pretty sure its nothing to do with the glue on tip, can hear the same when i'm twisting/bending a bit by holding the head and shaft end.

is this a glued in head or sleeve/tip. If it's the sleeve, just tighten the nut.

I'd determine first if the noise is actually at the hosel or not.

It's very very likely you have a crack in the shaft tho if it's not at the hosel.

95% sure not from the sleeve or hosel, its the mid-section on shaft.
performance wise seems normal at this stage but just worry the head going elsewhere in one day......

Huge chance the shaft is fractured.

    Have you tighten the screw??

I had the screw come loose on my LS 3 Wood and it felt and sounded like there was a crack.

He hears the same when twisting the shaft is a bit of a worry tho. The head would twist a tad if loose.

I've just recent reshaft an i15 driver for a mate using the shaft from his g10 and noticed the hosel on the i15 was quite a bit shorter than the G10.

Question, will a longer hosel make the club play stiffer???
