Let me give the card for the back 9 at Brighton.

    10 345m 4
    11 253m 4
    12 123m 3
    13 306m 4
    14 267m 4
    15 130m 3
    16 231m 4
    17 156m 3
    18 484m 5

It is a par 67 overall so all I've really done is play to my handicap - but perhaps I can get the number out of my head now.

4th round of the Club Champs this morning. Thank **** that's over. It was possibly my worst showing in the Club Champs ever. Just like the last 3 rounds I was all over the shop. Couldn't hit anything where I wanted to, and had no clue with the flat stick. I've decided to take this week off altogether (next game with the crew on Sunday), then get some lessons starting next week.

    89 gross
    80 nett

    6 fairways
    5 greens
    34 putts

    7 pars
    6 bogies
    4 doubles
    1 other (triple)
    Handic(r)ap | WITB | Shenanigans
    2010 Stats to date (45 rounds): 6.11 FIR | 6.04 GIR | 30.58 putts

Golf balls are like eggs. They're white. They're sold by the dozen. And you need to buy fresh ones each week.

1 Birdie (on the hardest rated hole on the course ffs)
    6 Pars
    9 Bogeys
    2 Triples

    5 x 3 Putts......FFS!!!!

Look on the bright side Courty. These scores would have had you in the top 10 in B grade.

That's okay. I'm sure my first was at Nambour, a par 68, but it gets the mental barrier out of the way.

    Stableford @ Mt Lawley

35 pts. Dismal 13 pts on the front 9 (actually out back 9), with 22 pts on the back !!! (simmsy-esque)

Pity the score that drops off is Played To 6...means I'm out ANOTHER 0.3. Not too worried about that, and am happier at the comeback I made.

    27/06/10, Cooroy Open, Stroke.

    6/12 effective tee-shots.
    7/18 effective approaches.
    3/11 up and down successes.
    35 putts.
    -----------
    8 pars.
    8 bogeys.
    2 others.

    Score 40-43-83 nett 71 (Par 33-37-70 AMCR 67)

It was my first round after 4 weeks off and naturally I started with a par to lift the expectations. My short game wasn't up to the task though, and I spent most of the front nine missing greens and chipping past the hole. I felt I was putting nicely, but they weren't dropping (the pins were in tough positions though), but you can only pull out that line so many times.

I started the back nine hitting greens for a change, and the approaches continued to be good. 3 over for the nine with one to play, and I let myself get convinced that driver was the club to use off the last tee (I was playing the course blind). The result being a topped drive into the creek, and a triple bogey finish. Lucky it was the last hole, because I would have been mentally screwed after that.

Overall, an okay result, that I could build on if I was to play again soon, but it's another handicap increase regardless. 11.8 to 12.0, with a 16 counting as one of my best 10. Ew!

Next round: I might take the boy out for a round somewhere post-marathon. Maybe Robina. Maybe even the Thursday comp.

My last ever round at Camden Valley today, so I was hoping that some good things would happen. Instead, it was a really strange game of two halves for 38 points. The stats tell a story.

    Front nine: 2 fairways, 2 greens in reg, 14 putts, 4 of 6 up/downs for 3 over.

Back nine: 7 fairways out of 7, 7 greens in reg, 19 putts for 3 over.

Bad ball striking, really good short game on the front, then great ball striking on the back. Lipped out 3 times, so may have been even better. I'm quite happy though, and it's a keeper for the top 10.

Scrambling saved the day, if I could hit a fairway consistently I might play ok.

Brighton is on Dendy Rd. Maybe as much as 1km from the Nepean.
Not to be confused with Elsternwick which is actually beside the Nepean.

Saturday - Toowoomba Middle Ridge - a group went to check out the course as we were playing pennants there on Sunday. Really struggled on the greens 95/85. Goods news was winning NTP on the 14th.

Sunday - lost 7/6 but at least I read the greens a little better. (I was sacrificed at 3)

played a lot of golf last week - even during the work week as well - not good...
represented the District in team gross event, and it was played over 3 days on prob the tuffest course we have here...
    and proceeded to shoot 83-88-90...OUCH...
great thing was that after playing three days there, when I went out for a quick 9 at home course, everything seemed so much wider, and easier...
played my ClubChamps MatchPlay Semis on Sat arvo - and we went at each other tuff - both of us shot 33 (-2) over the front 9 just to half each other...then a delay on the 10th saw me put 2 balls OOB - conceded hole...but came thru for a 2/1 win with a tap-in bird on the 17th...
